Overview: After School Activities offer students with developmental disabilities ages 14-21 a fun, welcoming, and opportunity-filled transition from the classroom to home. A blend of structured and free time creates a variety of recreational, educational, and social options. Staff support students’ individual needs, goals, and interests, and aim to empower students to exercise their personal choice and voice on a daily basis; whether that is choosing an activity, sharing reflections from the school day, or gathering with peers to work on homework. Participants also learn and practice transferable life skills in this supportive and flexible environment such as organization, time-management, and self-advocacy. After School activities play a vital role in supporting parents in finishing their workday while their son or daughter is in a safe and enriching environment through the end of the typical workday.
