It focuses on healthy fitness activities as a means to increase wellness among teens and adults with developmental disabilities while keeping up with an ever-increasing technological environment. The recreation and technology based program will use a variety of up-to-date equipment, reward systems and tracking charts to motivate and attract new individuals to participate in the program.
Personal coaching available. Do you have a busy schedule and can't come during the day? We have personal coaching available upon request! $15 per hour. Contact the 365 program manager to sign up: (360) 201-9053
At this program members will develop goal-setting skills and build their goals into program and at-home choices. Recreation Leaders will instruct hands-on computer activities that will enhance member awareness of:
Community resources (SmartTrips, EverybodyBike, Bellingham Parks & Recreation, etc.)
Transportation and navigation (WTA, googlemaps, Greenway Trail Maps)
Nearby outdoor access (parks, trails, lakes and beaches)
Social Networking support (Facebook)
Members will also develop blogs updating their progress, new goals and stories
Online instructional fitness videos
In the future, members and Rec Leaders may also develop adaptive instructional videos to upload for greater access in other communities
Each day members will cooperatively choose a fitness-based activity related to individual goals, and then create an itinerary for the day including methods of transportation.
