*This is a special month where we selected two MHC members to talk about the Zombie's have hearts too! 5K
Jennie has been training hard for the Zombie 5K this month with her friends at MHC. Not only is this Sunday the Zombie 5K, it is also Jennie's Birthday! "I am going to be the one with the birthday balloon if you need to find me." When asked what she is most excited for, she replied "to finish a 5K for the first time, and walk with my all of my friends." Jennie has attended many of our 5K training days during our scheduled programs, and learned a lot! We asked Jennie if she would give our readers some advise if they are planning on attending the 5K this weekend. She shared, "It's important not to walk too fast, but also don't let the zombies catch you!" Jennie loves coming to the MHC, "it feels like home to me, I come here to get out of the house and always find something fun to do. " Jennie is a team player, and is quick to motivate and encourage others with her kind words and friendliness.
Levin is a returning Zombie 5K veteran and has spent the months leading up to the 5K dedicated to his fitness. However, Levin would be exercising regardless! When not actively participating in MHC programs one could find Levin at the YMCA working out on the treadmill or enjoying a spin class taught by Mary. "That is cardio, it's good for my muscles and makes me feel happy." Levin also participated in the Jingle Bell Run where his time was 49 min! We asked Levin to tell us some of his tips for running. He shared, "you have to pace yourself, remember your breathing, use your arms and your legs, don't give up, and singing while you run can help too!" Levin is an avid 365 goer, has almost perfect attendance, and will be starting personal coaching with MHC staff Rylee in the near future. Watch out for this Zombie who has a huge heart!
