Today, the Healthy Lifestyles gang went to the YMCA to participate in the Gentle Yoga Stretch Class. We used chairs to do supported yoga in this class with other community members! Using the chairs made us feel successful in our yoga practice. There were also opportunities to stand up and use the chair for balance. We felt safe, and we'd love to do it again! "I felt like this yoga class was a great fit for our group. I really enjoyed watching the members being able to be independent in this class. It was nice to see everyone follow our instructor's instructions. I felt personally like I really needed to stretch my shoulders, and after this class my body feels stretched out and great!" - Yoga Star "I liked the arm stretching pose." - Mario "Rachel helped me in the class today! I did the stand up yoga poses. They were hard, but I did them." - 2 Lincoln 7 "I liked it. I breathed a lot and drank 2 glasses of water! I liked the mountain pose!" - Stretchy Jalapeño "At yoga I stretched my feet and my hands. We made big stretch circles. I want to do it again please!" - Yoga Me "We crossed our legs to stretch our hips. It was good and awesome." - Pinky "I worked out my arms. It made me happy!" - Ping Yelled "This class was just so cool! It was awesome to see the creative adaptive poses for chair yoga. I got a lot of really great ideas for adaptive yoga stretches. Our group did really great participating in the class!" - Yoga Bear
