Today, we were lucky to have sunshine and fresh air to play in! We split into 3 groups and did a fitness Scavenger Hunt. What is a Fitness Scavenger Hunt you may ask? Each group was tasked with finding places around town, such as open spaces, bridges, stairs, water fountains etc. and were then given exercises to complete.
One group went to Boulevard Park and did jumping jacks, pushups, sang Disney Karaoke, and took in the beautiful views.
Another group walked to Waypoint Park and practiced high kicks, ran to the top of the stairs at Maritime Heritage Park, and even did some yoga stretches by the bay!
"We did jumping jacks on top of the stairs, for instance." said one member.
"We walked down by the bridge" exclaimed TwoLincolnOne.
We also discussed the importance of cardiovascular health and why it's great to get your heart pumping! Some of the exercises we did helped prepare our bodies for winter, building up stabilizing muscles to prevent slips and falls.
We ended the day with discussion about our difference in ages and abilities, which led to a fitting quote to sum up our day.
